You may activate your current Windows installation only if the edition you have installed on your computer matches the edition you bought.
Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
Wait for a second for the Windows activation details to be populated.
Click on Change Product key link once the details have been populated.
Enter the new product key, and click Next to activate your installation of Windows 7.
